A design update for Kayla's mother because she looked too similar to one of my other characters.
Freya was part of a large pack of wolves living in the Great Desert that rejected their species' peaceful, welcoming nature, and became a reclusive, xenophobic community. Freya, one of their finest warriors, grew tired of her people's way of life, and longed to explore more of their world.
However, pack members were forbidden to leave in order to protect their territory, which contained a hidden oasis that gave life-giving water, and vegetation among the scorching desert.
She was also bethrothed to the chieftain's son, whom she found so obnoxious and arrogant, she was looking for a means to escape her fate.
During one of her patrols, she met a hedgehog named Roderick that was dying in the desert, and took pity on him. So she brought him back to her pack's oasis, and nursed him back to health. During this period, Freya and Roderick started to fall in love with one another, but her pack was ready to drive him out due to overstaying his welcome.
Freya longed to go with him, but Roderick tried to persuade her to stay with her pack, as he was a former mercenary, thus, having a huge target on his back. She persisted, and would rather brave the dangers than stayed couped up, married to her chieftain's son.
He finally relented, and the two escaped from the oasis in the middle of the night. They traveled together throughout Mobius in search of a new home, and eventually married. During their journey, Freya became pregnant with Roderick's child, so they settled in Soumerca where they could raise their family in peace. Freya bore him two children over time; a daughter and a son. The former whom they named Kaylana, and the latter, Martin.
Freya is a wolf, longing for exploration in her youth. While being somewhat "childish" in this nature, she is a skilled warrior in combat. Trained in the art of hand-to-hand and swordfighting, she uses dual blades to strike her foes down. Also a skilled tracker, she can follow the scent of her target for miles.
As a mother, her sense of adventure has dimmed, and desires only to keep her family safe. Because she and her husband lack the back-up of a pack, she was prudent on making sure that her children learned how to defend themselves.
